Elkin Jaycees

Who We Are

Since 1942,  the Elkin Jaycees has been an organization where young adults ages 21-40 have made a better community through a combination of: 1. Community Involvement, 2. Individual Growth, 3. HAVING FUN AND MEETING SIMILAR PEOPLE.  The Elkin Jaycees have been making a difference in our community for more than 60 years. From our ranks have emerged business leaders,  mayors, county executives and congressmen.  We have created and supported a vast array of community programs.

Some of the Elkin Jaycees past contributions to our community have included the completion of the Girl Scout Building on Memorial Park Drive, financial assistance for construction of the Elkin Public Library, Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital, Elkin Jaycees Community Bandshell at the park, donations to Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Elkin Rescue Squad, Tri-C Christian Ministries, and scholarships to Elkin High School are a few other achievements. Our largest annual community project is the 4th of July Celebration held at Elkin Municipal Park.

Jaycees, and the Elkin Chapter of the NC Jaycees is a unique organization that allows for community support and indivual growth that allows for members to help with what they canand when they can.

OUR CREED

Written by C. William Brownfield in 1946. This simple statement of beliefs unites Jaycees around the world in a bond of friendship and purpose. These 65 words have become the third most important document in the lives of many, many people worldwide.

The Jaycee Creed

WE BELIEVE

That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life;

That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations;

That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise;

That government should be of laws rather than of men;

That earth's great treasure lies in human personality;

And that service to humanity is THE BEST WORK OF LIFE.
